FM 1 Body

Completion Date: November 1997

This is the first guitar I built from scratch. I built it using wood given to me by a friend.  Call it "Beginners Luck", but you can't believe how great the guitar looks and sounds.

Body
Poplar core, 13/4" thick.  Veneer of ash, poplar, walnut, and oak laminated on the front and back.
Neck/Profile
Walnut and oak, with rosewood fingerboard.  Scale 24 3/4".  Profile similar to a '59 Les Paul.

Wraparound Stop Bar (Les Paul Junior)

Pickups
Two late-70's Ibanez V2 humbuckers.
Controls
One volume control for each pickup and a selector switch to select either or both pickups. The volume knob nearest the bridge is the bridge pickup's volume.
Finish
MinWax Hand-Rubbed Poly using a special technique developed by a luthier friend.
