Summer NAMM 2002 After Hours -   Nashville, Tennessee, Page 3

The Wildhorse!

Jonny Lang rocked the house on Saturday night.  The venue was The Wildhorse Saloon, a place more well known for line dancing and abnormally snug-fitting Wrangler jeans.

After suffering through two really average warm-up acts, Jonny Lang took the stage.

He had a good band and his tone was great, but it had already been a long-haul for us in the Wildhorse.

Here are four representative shots of the show.  Click on a photo to see a full-sized version.

Dude...is there a cover?

Uh...scuse me...scuse me...scuse me...

Up Broadway from the Wildhorse Saloon is Tootsie's Orchid Lounge.

We decided to slip in and hear some real country music.

The place was packed with yuppies and country music wannabes, but the band was really killer.  These guys should have warmed up for Jonny Lang.

We're not musicians...we just play them on TV...

A couple of doors up from Tootsie's is Legends Corner, another honky tonk.

This band smoked, and the Telemeister on the left (name unknown) was really wearing that Tele out

Note to everyone -- there are some really good, unknown musicians down here!

WE GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS PLACE!

Another cool place on Broadway -- Robert's Western World.  Where else can you see a band, get a cheeseburger, and buy a pair of cowboy boots simultaneously?  Lots of out-of-towners in here trying to get in touch with a little bit of the "O Brother, Where Art Thou" thing.
All in all a pretty good evening...lots of really hot Tele picking to see.  Jonny Lang was pretty cool, and the meal at the Prime Cut was first class.  Viva Nashville!
